Readly’s Cookie Policy
The purpose of this page is to explain what cookies are, why and how Readly uses them, and the options available to you regarding their use.
1/ What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. This file is automatically sent back during subsequent exchanges between your device and the Readly platform.
Cookies are useful because they allow Readly and its partners to uniquely identify your device and help ensure a seamless experience, for example by helping us understand your preferences or past actions.
You can find more information about cookies at the following address: www.youronlinechoices.eu.
2/ How do we use cookies?
Cookies have a variety of uses, such as storing your customer ID, the language in which the web page is displayed, or enhancing your user experience. They can also help Readly compile statistical reports or ensure that the adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.
Some of these uses are strictly necessary for the provision of the Readly Service or for establishing communication between you and Readly. In such cases, you cannot disable these cookies as you may, for example, be logged out, or essential features of the Readly Service, as described in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use, may no longer function.
Other uses, known as optional and which do not meet these criteria, require your consent before reading or writing.
3/ Cookies

For example, they allow us to count visits to our platform. They help us identify the most popular articles and see how visitors interact with our Services. We may use tools for experimentation and the gradual roll-out of features (A/B testing and feature flags) to improve the performance and usability of the Service. These cookies help us improve the performance of the Readly Service and the user experience. |
3.2. Optional cookies
Types of cookies | Legal basis | Description |
Statistical cookies required to measure the performance of the Readly service | Consent | These cookies collect personal data about how you interact with our Service. This enables Readly to generate more accurate reports on the use of the Service than would be possible with anonymised data. |
Personalised advertising cookies required to deliver personalised adverts | Consent | These cookies collect data relating to the device used when accessing the Service and are then shared with external platforms (Google Ads and Facebook Ads) This enables us to show you adverts that are more relevant and better tailored to your interests, as well as to show adverts for our products and services to people with similar interests to yours. |
4/ What options do you have regarding the use of cookies?
Here we describe the various options available to you for managing your cookie preferences.
4.1. Consent management platform
To enable you to manage your cookie preferences, Readly uses a consent management platform, sometimes referred to as a “cookie banner”. This platform also allows us to keep a record of your consent.
When you first visit the Service, or when the consent period has expired (after 13 months), the cookie banner will appear, allowing you to consent to the use of optional cookies.
If you wish to update your consent settings at a later date, you may choose to:
- Go to the “My Account” page and select the “Personal details” tab. You can then click the “Edit” button at the end of the “Cookie preferences” line
- Click the “cookies” icon at the bottom right of every page on the website
Please note that you cannot withdraw your consent for cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function properly, for the provision of the Readly service, and for the legitimate measurement of the Readly service’s performance.
4.2. Mobile credentials
On your mobile device, your operating system may allow you to opt out of targeted advertising or reset your mobile identifier. This unique identifier can be used to identify a mobile device.
You can do this by using the “Allow App Tracking Requests” setting on iOS or “Turn off interest-based ads” on Android.
5/ Update to this policy
We may make changes to this Policy from time to time.
When we make significant changes to this Policy, we will notify you clearly, depending on the circumstances. For example, we may display a prominent notice within the Readly Service, or send you an email or a notification on your device.
6/ How can you contact us?
For further information or to exercise your data protection rights regarding the processing of personal data, please email us at dpo@Readly.co, clearly stating the email address used for your Readly account and the nature of your request.
